As an undergrad, I have only had the opportunity to take an introductory course. However, my understanding of this field is that we study the psychology associated with different religious principles. (i.e. mysticism, levels of religiosity...etc) This of course is a broad generalization of the field, but it is hard to discuss this topic as a whole when it is filled with so many areas within it.
Has anyone chosen a specific area of study in this field? I am leaning towards the both the study of cognitive dissonance in believers and the study of mystical experience among cult followers.
Greetings,
I agree with your statement about the broad generalization of Division 36, and its difficulties to discuss personal specific topics with other members. However, this can be a good thing because others with different topics might be able to add information that relevant to your topic and vice versa.
